As a photographer in East Tennessee, there’s nothing more rewarding than capturing love stories set against our area’s breathtaking mountain views. Lindsey and Tyler’s engagement session on Chilhowee Mountain near Cleveland, TN was one of the most memorable yet. From reconnecting with one of my very first students to dodging storm clouds in the name of love, this session had it all. These two were such a joy to photograph, and their adventurous spirit made it a day I’ll never forget.
For couples searching for photographers in Chattanooga, TN or Cleveland, TN who can deliver sweeping views and romantic, nature-filled backdrops, Chilhowee Mountain is a hidden gem. Located just outside of Cleveland, it offers stunning panoramic overlooks, winding trails, and golden-hour light that can make any engagement session feel straight out of a movie. Lindsey and Tyler chose this location because they wanted something peaceful, scenic, and timeless—a perfect match for their mountain-loving hearts.
This session was extra special for me because I actually met Lindsey years ago when I was still a teacher and she was one of my first students. She was a standout even then: kind, driven, and full of life. Fast forward to now, and I got to witness her step into this beautiful new chapter with her fiancé, Tyler. The two met through mutual friends during their time at UTC and quickly became inseparable. Tyler planned a surprise trip to Asheville and proposed at the iconic Biltmore Estate, a fairytale start to their forever.
If there was ever a sign that these two are meant to be, it was the weather on the day of their session. With a major storm in the forecast, we considered rescheduling. But between Lindsey’s nursing school schedule and their positive outlook, we decided to take a chance. We spent the evening capturing romantic moments at the top of the mountain, and within minutes of wrapping up, the sky opened up and it started pouring. Talk about divine timing!
Engagement sessions like this one are a reminder that love stories are best captured when they’re real, meaningful, and filled with personality. Whether you’re planning your own mountain engagement session or looking for a Chattanooga or East Tennessee photographer to tell your story, I’d love to help make it unforgettable.
